What is the lifespan of a banner flag or flag?

The lifespan of a flag depends on several factors, including how long the flag is displayed outdoors, the location where it hangs, and the weather conditions.

Flags made from standard flag material (115 g polyester) have a lifespan of approximately 3–4 months, depending on the factors above.

Flags made from 120 g Air textile (polyester with a perforated structure) have a lifespan of approximately 6–7 months, depending on the same factors.

We recommend removing flags from the pole in strong winds (over 5 Bft). This can significantly extend their lifespan. The bottom point of the flag is usually where wear occurs first. Frequent flapping will cause the material to fray. For flags made of Air textile, the bottom point will not fray, but small tears may eventually appear, or the hem may start to come loose.

It is also important that a flag hangs freely and does not touch any objects. Repeated friction against a surface will damage the fibers and cause tears in the material.

The colors of a flag will always fade to some degree due to weather conditions such as rain and sun. Some colors show fading more quickly than others.
