What is the difference between left- and right-swaying?

This refers to which side of the pole the flag’s design is readable (not mirrored). For a right-swaying flag, the flag is on the right side of the pole, and the design and/or text is correctly visible. The pole sleeve is then on the left side of the flag. For a left-swaying beach flag, it is the opposite.

For a double-sided printed flag, this does not matter—the flag is readable as both left- and right-swaying, with the text clearly visible on both sides (not mirrored).
